Finalists announced for QiC Anticoagulation awards programme

The Quality in Care (QiC) partnership is pleased to announced the finalists for its first Anticoagulation awards programme to recognise good healthcare practice in the field of anticoagulation.

Anticoagulation is a therapy field that involves the prevention and treatment of blood clots. It covers a range of serious conditions, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), atrial fibrillation and endocarditis.

The aim of QiC Anticoagulation is to recognise, reward and share the good practice involved in anticoagulation management, education and patient care. It follows similar successful programmes in diabetes and oncology.

QiC Anticoagulation 2014 features seven finalists across four categories covering key areas of anticoagulation care. Finalists come from healthcare organisations in England, Wales and Ireland and represent a diverse range of projects from NHS, universities and pharmacy.
